A celebration of Tuesday and the approach of what passes for spring

Tuesdays are good days. This one is better than most.

Scads of new books came out this Tuesday, including Elizabeth Bear’s new book Shattered Pillars. (available everywhere books and pixels are sold!)

I’ve been waiting a long time for this book. I’m told my copy of Shattered Pillars has shipped. And though a watched mailbox never gets filled with the mail you want, I’ll be watching it anyway.

I’ll be watching for Delia cover flats as well! I was told those were mailed yesterday. I might be a wee bit excited about that. And since I’m the framing department manager at work, I’m already plotting how I’m going to frame a cover flat.

I have the day off, another mark in the plus column. Texas has skipped right over spring into summer, as it does, but we’re going to pretend that never happened.

Only 182 days until Delia hits the shelves, which will also be a good Tuesday.

So to celebrate all of those things, I’ve posted two more free preview chapters of Delia’s Shadow on the website. You can read Chapters One, Two, and Three, here.

And that’s all you get in the way of free previews or teasers. For the rest of the story you’ll have to buy the book. I’m hoping that after you read those three chapters you’ll want the rest of the story and that you’ll tell your friends.

This is what passes for hardcore self-promotion in these parts. You have no idea how difficult even this is for me, but I know in my bones this is a good book and people will want to read it. They just have to find it first. Word of mouth, I hope, will help accomplish that.

I may put more poetry on the poetry pages later, but we’ll see how the day goes. You never know what surprises lurk in a Tuesday.

Vanishing now, in a cloud of pixel dust. ::poof::
